Eco Drain & Urinal Services.

Seal commercial floor wastes and urinals against sewer odours, insects, and harmful gases. The drain still drains. Site walkthrough, install, and ongoing monthly maintenance.

Sewer gas, drain flies, and floor-waste odours come from the drain itself, the open pipe that connects your space to the sewer line. A conventional water trap is meant to block them, but it only holds while water sits in the bend. In floor wastes that are used rarely, or through dry stretches, that water evaporates and the barrier is gone. Cleaning won't fix it either, the smell and the insects come back the next week.

Eco Drain seals are mechanical inserts that drop into the floor waste or urinal trap. A one-way seal opens under water flow and closes completely the rest of the time, while a flexible skirt grips the pipe wall, so sewer gas, insects, and harmful gases are blocked without restricting drainage. The seal holds with no standing water and nothing to top up, so it keeps working even when a traditional trap would dry out. We size each unit to your fixtures, install with an initial bioactive treatment, and return monthly to keep the system in service.

The program is delivered under HCAAP accreditation, the install, treatment, and ongoing maintenance follow the program's documented commercial-hygiene standards rather than ad-hoc cleaning practice.

How it works

1

Site walkthrough

We assess every floor waste, urinal, and grease trap on site, identify which units need sealing, and size the inserts to your fixtures.

2

Initial bioactive treatment

Grease, scale, and biofilm get treated with a non-toxic bioactive that breaks down the deposits feeding the odour.

3

Install Eco Drain seals

Sized inserts fit into each floor waste and urinal trap. They open with water flow, close otherwise, blocking sewer gas, drain flies, and harmful gases.

4

Monthly maintenance

Each visit includes inspection, refresh of the bioactive treatment, and verification that every seal is operating. Issues caught before they become smell complaints.

Common questions

What's the difference between an Eco Drain seal and a regular drain trap?

Regular drain traps rely on water sitting in the bend to block sewer gas. They fail when the water evaporates (common in rarely-used floor wastes) or when usage doesn't keep them topped up. Eco Drain seals are mechanical. They close when water isn't flowing, so they hold the seal even when the trap dries out.

What sizes do the seals come in?

Eco Drain seals come in a range of unit sizes to fit standard floor wastes and urinal traps. We measure every fixture on the site walkthrough and select the right insert and flow rate for each one. The spec sheet for the units we'll install at your site goes out with the quote, get in touch and we'll send it across.

Will the seals slow my drains down?

No. Eco Drain seals are designed to open under normal water flow. Each unit has an industry-leading flow rate. We size for the fixtures so drainage isn't restricted.

What sites is this for?

Commercial kitchens, food courts, gyms, public bathrooms, and any facility with floor wastes or urinals where sewer odours, insects, or hygiene complaints come from the drain. Strata buildings with shared bathrooms are common.

Do I need ongoing service?

Yes for best results. Monthly maintenance keeps the bioactive treatment fresh and verifies every seal is operating. Without it, grease and biofilm rebuild over time and odours return, same as before the install.
