Situation
Client #1, Home Rental: A family had moved into temporary rental accommodation. A member of the family, being an asthma sufferer, began to suffer escalated asthma attacks, from every couple of months to daily attacks. The client advised that the house smelled very musty when they opened the door to enter the house.
Client #2, Home Owner: The client attributed health issues to their 400 sqm home in a prominent Sydney suburb. Continuous respiratory infections and other asthmatic type reactions were frequently experienced by the family of 4. Furthermore, if one person in the household became ill, there was a high likelihood of the illness being spread to other family members.
Treatment
Client #1: Placement of one jar of SAN-AIR Gel 75g in the return air vent of the ducted air conditioning system. Client #2: Placement of SAN-AIR in the return air vent of the ducted air conditioning system.
Test Methodology
- 01SAN-AIR gel packs were placed in the return air vents of the ducted air conditioning systems in both residences.
- 02Client #1 was monitored over a 3-month period for symptom improvement.
- 03Client #2 had microbial readings taken at initial placement, 24 hours, and 72 hours from three rooms: bedroom, lounge, and hallway.
Result
- Client #1: Within 48 hours the asthma attacks stopped and the musty smell had gone. After 3 months the client was still satisfied
- Client #2: 80–90% decrease in microbial counts across all tested rooms
- A marked decrease in respiratory infections across both households
- Significantly reduced likelihood of infections being spread from one family member to others
- A noticeable reduction in the number of days taken off from work
Conclusion
Both residential cases demonstrate SAN-AIR's effectiveness in improving indoor air quality in homes. Client #1 experienced immediate relief from asthma attacks within 48 hours, with sustained results over 3 months. Client #2 saw an 80–90% decrease in microbial counts, resulting in fewer respiratory infections and an increased general sense of wellness for the entire family.
